Why is MasterShield superior to other gutter protection systems?
MasterShield is the only gutter protection system on the market today that installs on existing gutters, is not fastened to your roof, installs under the first course of shingles, and keeps all debris out of your gutter. Other systems have open channels or other openings that allow debris to still enter your gutter. MasterShield only allows water to enter your gutter.

What is the MasterShield warranty?
If a gutter protected my MasterShield ever clogs, we'll refund you the cost of the product on the entire installation. We don't just stop there: should a gutter clog cause damage claimable against your homeowner policy, we'll refund your insurance deductible, up to $1,500.

Our written, money-back warranty comes direct from us, the manufacturer and is transferable if you should sell your home. It is unmatched in the industry. Ask to see the warranty from your estimator.

What's wrong with a "When it clogs, we'll clean it for free" guarantee?
We hope this analogy can help explain the difference:

If you suffer from major headaches 2-3 times a year, year after year, and your local pharmacy advertised that if you take a pill they had you'd "Never Get a Headache Again, Guaranteed!" At first it sounds like a great promise, the idea of finally ending your headaches. With a little more research, you find the actual manufacturer of the pill really didn't guarantee the pill's performance. It turns out the local pharmacy provides the guarantee. To add insult to injury, the pill couldn't stop all the ways your body could produce a headache even though the advertisements and slogans said it would. In the end, the only "guarantee" your pharmacy was willing to give you was that if you ever did get a headache after taking their pill, the pharmacist would come over to your home and administer you an aspirin at their earliest convenience.

You then came across a pharmaceutical company that advertised, "Take our pill and we promise it will be impossible to get another headache or we'll give you your money back." If both pills were comparably priced, which would you purchase?

At MasterShield we've ended the headache of gutter cleaning by making it impossible for your gutter to clog. The local dealers of our competitors show up with their "aspirin" of a service call when their system fails to keep your gutter from clogging. Since you are considering gutter protection, what do you want from it-the impossibility of getting a clogged gutter, or the "aspirin" of a service call when you do get one?

Don't hesitate to ask your estimator for a copy of our manufacturer's warranty prior to your purchase. And don't hesitate to review it side by side against other systems as well.

Do you mean to tell me that only water will get into my gutter, and nothing else?
That's right. MasterShield is limits it's openings to only allow the tiniest particles to pass through. The largest particle that can get past the filter has to be less than 50 microns in size. That's less than 8/1000th's of an inch.

The other systems claim that no gutter protection system can stop all debris from entering a gutter, is this true?
It was true until MasterShield's patented technology. MasterShield uses scientific principals and modern technology from this century to keep your gutters clean. Other systems are virtually the same as systems that were sold to people a century ago. Which makes you wonder…they didn't keep gutters clean then and they don't work any differently today. If they really worked as well as they imply, wouldn't all new homes be built with them?

What happens in a heavy downpour?
The HydroVortex™ Technology employed by MasterShield creates a siphoning force so powerful it can pull more volumes of water though it than a gutter can handle. It can allow more water into your gutter in a single hour than the average rainfall from a hurricane. Ask your estimator for details!

My roof is very steep, will MasterShield work?
Yes, MasterShield works with all pitches of roofs, from flat to Mansard.

Will MasterShield void my roof warranty?
MasterShield is not fastened to your roof, but to the front edge of your gutter. It slides under the first course of shingles. Our method of installation has been reviewed and approved by the largest roofing shingle manufacturer in North America not to void your roof's warranty. Ask your estimator to see their letter to us.

How will MasterShield look on my home?
MasterShield is design to mirror the pitch of the roof of your home, not rise above it like reverse curve systems. In most applications, you can't tell the system is on the house, unless you're looking down at it from a higher elevation. Despite their claims, reverse curve systems are more noticeable and we feel detract from the curb appeal of your home.

How much does it cost?
MasterShield is an affordable add-on that is comparably priced to other systems currently available to most homeowners. Fill in the form below to have an authorized MasterShield representative provide you with a personal quote on a system for your home.

What colors does it come in?
Master Shield comes in more than 15 colors to compliment either your gutter or roof shingle.

Can't leaves get stuck on top of Master Shield, causing the water to run right across it and down to the ground?
Yes, water can and will run across the top of a leaf. It will also do the same with a stick, too. Water likes the path of least resistance. Generally, however, water is much heavier than the debris it is mixed with and gravity will pull it most of it below the debris.

A leaf can cover the opening of a reverse curve system, causing the water to run across it and onto the ground. Since the opening of MasterShield is, on average, 10 times bigger than today's reverse curve systems, the chance of this happening is much less. And, unlike the reverse curve systems, MasterShield does not have the capability of pulling a wet leaf, pine needles and other debris right into your gutter. MasterShield keeps all the debris out rain or shine.

What is MasterShield made from?
Master Shield's panels are made from baked on enamel-coated aluminum and the filter is made of Surgical Grade Stainless Steel. It even comes with a 20-year finish warranty, guaranteed not to peel, fade, or crack! Copper MasterShield will be available soon.

Can the filter ever come out the main body?
In testing, the only way that the filter could come out is if you destroyed it. The filter is permanently crimped and hot sealed into the panels at almost 400° Fahrenheit in our manufacturing center. Your local dealer does not install the stainless steel filter onsite, guaranteeing a cleaner appearance.

I live on the West coast. Will Master Shield work on my Fascia Gutters?
Yes.

Do I need to replace my gutters?
No. In most cases Master Shield can be installed on your existing gutters. This determination needs to be made by your local dealer at the time of your estimate. Our dealers are happy to give a free gutter inspection with every estimate. If it is determined that your gutters are old, dented, not functioning properly, your dealer will give you an estimate on the additional work necessary to make sure your system will last a lifetime.

What about birds and bees, can they get inside of the system and build a home?
No. Since Master Shield has no openings, there is no way for birds or bees to get into or underneath the gutter or system to build a nest. Besides, since MasterShield is not a solid cover, its not a place they would like to live, since water gets through it. Would you like to live in a house with no roof on it? We didn't think so.

Do birds and bees do this a lot with other gutter covers?
YES.

What about mosquitoes?
The Center for Disease Control recommends eliminating stagnant pools of water in your yard to avoid breeding grounds for mosquitoes, particularly those that can carry the West Nile Virus. One of the most overlooked places for stagnant water is in a gutter with debris in it. While MasterShield's openings are virtually microscopic, there is not a reverse curve system being marketed today that has an opening that a mosquito couldn't get through. Add to the fact that they let debris in and stagnant pools of water can easily form. It's impossible to see how any reverse curve system claiming they can stop mosquitoes from breeding in your gutter could possibly be telling the truth.

Check your downspouts for a slow trickle of water that still occurs hours after a rainstorm and you likely have a situation in your gutters that will attract mosquitoes to breed.

Can I purchase Master Shield and install it myself?
Unfortunately no. MasterShield, because of our written money back guarantee, needs to be installed by an authorized dealer. All of our dealers are factory trained on rain carrying systems and gutter protection. They all must pass criteria to make sure they qualified to give you the best possible service for you home.
